Highschool Expectations

I don't expect too much out of highschool. I expect to learn about things that I won't care about later in life. I'll learn what I hate, what I like. What I'm good at and what I'm terrible at. Get some new skills, lose some old ones. All highschool is it force-feeding random information into a kid's brain and hoping they'll memorize it and not forget it five years down the road like I'm sure most people do. The only thing I do expect out of highschool is to learn that schools sugar coat everything and that once you're out, nobody but your family cares.

On a matter of expecting to learn anything... I expect to learn things about history I won't ever think about again for the rest of my life. Learn things about science I probably won't ever be able to apply after school is out. Learn that our language is the most difficult of them all and that we've messed up every other language with it. And some basic math skills that still, might not be used again. All depends on the profession you choose to which is most important. I expect to learn that there are tough times, there are fun times, and there are times where it's just too much. I'm sure I'll watch someone drop out, or see someone sky-rocket to the top of it all. It's all something to expect with highschool.
